There are many reasons why someone may want to learn ASL. Whatever your reason, MCPL is here to help!

As you know, MCPL has subscribed to Mango Languages for a long time. ASL Inside is integrated into the learning program and can be used alongside any other languages you wish to learn. Its user-friendly interface and self-paced lessons make learning fun and approachable. You can learn at your own pace and review past lessons as needed.

Mango Languages is great about providing supplemental materials that provide additional insight into the culture surrounding American Sign Language. For example, its lessons cover how to use facial expressions and how to mouth words to communicate with people who use ASL. Lessons also cover the grammar used in sign language.

Most lessons are taught using videos without sound that practice the new words. When you feel confident, you can try it out yourself with their “magic mirror,” which allows you to watch yourself in real time.

Lessons also provide conversation demonstrations showing practical examples of two people using ASL. These lessons help you practice the words you just learned so that you’re ready to use them in real life. There are also multiple ways to go back to review key vocabulary and new words. Some of the topics covered include introductions, family, food, jobs, time, health, and making plans. Mango Languages also provides exams periodically throughout the process to test your skills.

Learning takes time. The best way to master a new language is to go back and practice a little bit every day.
