The Local Author Fair Is Back!

The Local Author Fair Is Back!

November 7, 2022

The Story Center’s annual Local Author Fair is returning to an in-person event this month and is larger than ever! This year’s fair will be held on Saturday, November 19, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at MCPL’s Woodneath Library Center.

With the opening of the new Woodneath Auditorium, as well as The Story Center’s offices in the historic house at Woodneath, the 2022 Local Author Fair has expanded to more than 50 featured authors! These attending authors have published books for adults, children, teens, and young adults on a wide array of topics.

This year, we wanted to create an unforgettable experience for the attendees. They will be able to stop in the historic house for refreshments, including cider and hot cocoa, and get a bingo card to win prizes. From there, they can explore the Community Room of Authors, stop by the Woodneath Press Booth, and explore the Auditorium Hall of Authors.

Whether you are a reader or author, this is a great opportunity to meet writers who are from, or reside in, the Kansas City area. Stop by the 2022 Local Author Fair to find your next great read and perhaps get a jump start on your holiday shopping list!

Applications for next year’s Local Author Fair will open next summer. For questions, contact Sahara at The Story Center at sscott@mymcpl.org or (816) 883-4775.
