Hi, everyone! This is Emery, founder of LitUp―a literature and arts festival just for teens―and I’m so excited to announce that we’ll soon be kicking off our Creative Contest for LitUp 2019! The contest, which recognizes teen writers and artists, will run from January 7, 2019, through March 1, 2019, and is open to anyone ages 13 - 19 who’d like to submit their original works of short fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or visual art.
We won’t be able to accept submissions after the March 1 deadline, so don’t miss your chance to have your talent and creativity recognized! Top entries will win great prizes, be featured in the LitUp anthology, and take part in an award ceremony at the LitUp festival on May 4 at the North Independence Branch of Mid-Continent Public Library.
Just like last year, LitUp will have interviews, workshops, and book signings with bestselling and award-winning authors and artists, as well as lots of fun activities, free books, and free food! For more information about the contest and the festival, visit mymcpl.org/LitUpFest.
Hope to see you there!
