Did you know that Mid-Continent Public Library’s Library-By-Mail service offers homebound customers the convenience of having Library materials delivered to their homes free of charge? Customers who cannot get to a Library branch because of disability, blindness/visual impairment, or temporary incapacity can receive regular and large print books, audiobooks, music, and DVDs delivered directly to them.
Library-By-Mail serves all age groups and delivers all types of materials, including those for children and young adults. Customers simply request specific titles or indicate their subject preferences, and materials are then sent to them through the U.S. Postal Service in zippered canvas bags. There is no cost to the customer. It’s free to receive and free to return!
This service, available to qualifying residents of Clay, Jackson, and Platte Counties, is a way for lifelong Library users to continue to have access to books, movies, and music. Mid-Continent Public Library is committed to providing access and bringing the Library to those who are homebound.
Contact an Adult Outreach Librarian at 816.503.4175 to learn more about the service and to see if you qualify.
