Welcome, readers, to the series “Science Snippets with Slade!” Slade is my rambunctious, charismatic five-year-old son, who’s way too involved with Legos, YouTube, and fruit snacks. In this series, Slade will have free reign to try some of the kids’ online resources that Mid-Continent Public Library offers. Since he loves science, we’ll (hopefully) focus on topics such as the human body, ecosystems, nature, outer space, and whatever else suits his kindergarten-fancy.
These blogs will also be pretty short, as a kindergartener on a Spring Break 2.0 has lots to do and not enough of an attention span to do them!
As a sneak peek of what’s coming next, Slade worked his way through the Early Learning by World Book resource.
Early Learning by World Book is “…the premier online resource for preschoolers and children in the early elementary grades. Developed with experts on early childhood education and guided by evidence-based practices of reading instruction, Early Learning offers rich resources designed for easy integration into the classroom curriculum, public library programming, or learning at home.” Some content featured on Early Learning by World Book includes Early Childhood Education, English Language Learners, Language Arts, Science, Math, Media/Technology, and more.
Well, I, for one, am really excited to see how this goes, and I hope you are too!
