I Have a Goal

I have a goal: I have always wanted to write – a short story, a novel, who knows – just something. I have many story ideas but as I begin to write them, I never seem to finish. So, I reached out to The Story Center for some help.

The Story Center offers vast resources for beginning writers and oral storytellers, as well as established storytellers. One of their signature programs is the Storytelling Certificate Program. Participants earn a certificate in either written or oral storytelling by attending a series of workshops and classes.

I have chosen to complete the written storytelling certificate. This program will take me through the process of creating and developing my story, the business aspect of writing and publishing, and then will actually publish my work as the capstone of my certificate program in The Story Center’s anthology, Community Voices. I will progress at my own pace and be required to take specific classes to help guide me through this process. The classes are offered several times a year in-person and online.
