Hey, You―Over There! Come Check Out this New Podcast!

October 1, 2018

September 30 was International Podcast Day! As you might imagine, this celebration is a relatively new, yearly event (created in the summer of 2013) intended to share valuable information with listeners and performers about podcasting and its enormous scope of spoken possibilities.

So…what better way to celebrate than by introducing a brand new podcast happening right here in Kansas City? I am excited to announce that Mid-Continent Public Library has partnered with KC 102.1’s own radio personality, Jacqui Lucky, to bring you an exciting new podcast!

Jacqui Lucky’s Book Group will premiere this October, and each month Jacqui will release a new book pick for members to read. Come read along with us as Jacqui shares an eclectic range of books across a variety of genres. We’ll revisit great reads, explore nonfiction, and dive into some hot, trendy titles. During each month, Jacqui will release an exciting podcast with conversational dialogue on her chosen title combined with bookish-related topics.

You can join Jacqui’s book group by checking out her new Facebook page, Jacqui Lucky Book Group. Follow along, share your own bookish photos, and let’s chat about all things books!

In the meantime, to get you started, why not check out Jacqui’s very first pick? For October, we’ll be reading the timeless classic To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

Are you reading this story for the first time? Or opening the pages to relive this unforgettable modern masterpiece? Maybe it was assigned to you in school, or perhaps you watched the Oscar-winning movie? Whatever your experiences, this classic, told through the eyes of eight-year-old Scout Finch, has stood the test of time and impacted generations. We hope you check out the forthcoming podcast that delves right into the heart of all things Mockingbird.

Pick up a copy today at your local Mid-Continent Public Library branch.
