Literature Project

Literature Project is a collection of classic books, poems, speeches, and plays. For each piece of literature, the site offers a free online eBook that can be easily read and searched.  In addition, each online book includes links to a downloadable eBook version. They also offer text-to-speech software that can be downloaded from the site.

Making of America

The Making of America is a digital library of primary sources in 19th century American social history from the Antebellum period through Reconstruction. The collection is particularly strong in the subject areas of education, psychology, American history, sociology, religion, and science and technology. The book collection currently contains approximately 10,000 books with 19th century imprints.

ManyBooks.net

Many of the etexts are from the November 2003 Project Gutenberg DVD, which contains the entire Project Gutenberg archives except for the Human Genome Project and audio eBooks, due to size limitations, and the Project Gutenberg of Australia eBooks, due to copyright. As of July 2004 most current Project Gutenberg texts are available here, usually within the week of release. There are also public domain and creative commons works from many other sources.

NetGalley

NetGalley is a service for people who read and recommend books. Publishers upload their galleys, plus any marketing and promotional information; then invite contacts to view their title on NetGalley. Readers can also find new titles through NetGalley's Public Catalog, and request to review those titles from the publisher.

The Online Books Page is a website that lists over one million free books on the web.

The Online Medieval and Classical Library is a collection of some of the most important literary works of Classical and Medieval civilization.
