Reading Suggestions

MCPL offers email newsletters for reading suggestions from three different services. Newsletters from NextReads and BookLetters each include 7-10 titles that have been reviewed and recommended by librarians. The titles that are featured are all owned by MCPL, and a convenient "Check the Catalog" link will appear next to each title, leading you directly into our Online Catalog where you can check on the title's current availability and place a hold on it if necessary. We also offer Online Book Clubs. Each book club email includes a sample of a book to read to introduce you to new authors and great new books. Feel free to subscribe to as many newsletters and book clubs as your inbox can handle!

NextReads

Subscribe to NextReads email newsletters containing reading suggestions on more than 20 different topics including mystery, romance, history and current events, and popular culture. NextReads also offers newsletters for children and teens. Access the NextReads Archives. 

BookLetters

Subscribe to BookLetters email newsletters containing reading suggestions on more than 20 different topics including current books in the media, business, fiction and nonfiction bestsellers, science fiction and fantasy, lifestyles, and more!  Good titles for teens and children are also recommended in their very own newsletters.

Online Book Clubs are a free service of the Library. Sign up today and start receiving chapters from popular books in your daily email. Each weekday, we’ll send you a portion of a book that takes only five minutes to read. You can choose what to read from a wide variety including fiction, nonfiction, romance, business, teen, and mystery. Sign up for one, or several!
