Have You Ever Tickled a Tiger?

Have you ever tickled a tiger? Have you ever poked a penguin? Have you ever nudged a hedgehog?

These are all lines from the book Have You Ever Tickled a Tiger by Betsy E. Snyder. My son loves this cute and colorful touch and feel book. He’s even figuring out how to use his little fingers to turn the pages, and we’ve read many times. I’m sure there are lots of other moms that can quote a book just from reading it over and over.

Girls' Day Out at the 2013 Romantic Times Booklovers Convention

Last weekend my friends and I had a "girls' day out." We met for brunch, and then all seven of us climbed into my sister-in-law's minivan to go to the 2013 Romantic Times Booklovers Convention here in Kansas City! Courtesy of our library cards, we went to the Giant Book Fair event for free! We collected autographs from favorite authors, discovered some new reading material, got our picture taken with some book cover models, and had a fabulous time!

Kids gather around to play a game and learn. You can learn, too. Books, movies, music, databases, events, classes, and more are all here waiting to teach you something new today.

A Place to Relax

You'll need a place to sit after browsing all the shelves. The Blue Springs South Branch has over 143,000 items available for checkout. If you can't find it here, check the catalog and see if it can be shipped from another branch.
