Here are the top 10 most read books in the world, according to squidoo.com. These are based on the number of books printed and sold over the last fifty years. Which ones have you read? Here at our branch, we are passing around the list. Most of us have read 6 or 7 of these titles. If you notice, 3 of these are series (7 books in Harry Potter!). So, here's your chance to see what you have read. And maybe, like me, you will order a book or two.
One of our subs is being taken on an Alaskan cruise for her anniversary. While we will miss her when she is gone, most of us will miss getting to go on a cruise more. To "help" with the pain, Cindy L. has done a huge cruise display for the branch.
This Wednesday, May 2, our storytime will feature books and activities about chickens. Rumor has it; we are going to learn how to do the Chicken Dance.
The buzz around the Weston Branch is "Spring has sprung." The trees in front of the library have bloomed and the bees are happy. Take the time and smell the flowers, but be careful that you don’t sniff a bee.
I was waking up this morning over a hot cup of cinammon roll cappuccino when I thought I would stop by the old NPR website to see what was happening. There I found a link to a story about Batman and the good work he is doing. He isn't fighting crime; he's bringing joy to boys and girls who need it.

Last week the Weston Branch was closed for carpeting and painting, but we are open now. Come in for a whiff of that new carpet smell....the new carpet looks good too!
Our Weston storytime kids will be celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday two days early! At our regular storytime on Wednesday, February 29, we will be reading some of the Dr. Seuss classics and having a drawing for a copy of The Lorax. The fun will begin at 10:00 a.m. It will be a rhyming good time!
Our storytime kids had a great time making hats from newspapers and then decorating them. They were so proud of them that they even agreed to pose for this picture! Our books centered on hats blowing away, so as they left the building, they were holding on to theirs with all their might. I am happy to report they all made it safely to their vehicles with the hats on their heads.
