Book Review: Getting Started in Value Investing by Charles S. Mizrahi

I loved this book. Let’s get that out of the way right away. I’ve read it at least three times, and it’s time for another read. The book is only 190 pages but packs a great foundation for a new investor and valued lessons for the seasoned. Mizrahi starts with a brief explanation and history of value investing. He then moves on to explain the misconceptions and basics of value investing. He continues with great skill explaining what makes a company great. Once he has laid out the history and basics, Mizrahi does what not many of the other investing books do.

Coming Soon

You know, I am continuously last in line on the waiting list for our most popular resources. I’m not alone in this either, I’ve helped customers who, like me, are way down the list. WildHeart Rocked the House!

Actually, they rocked the Library, but you know what I mean. Yep, the Emmy Award winning group WildHeart entertained and educated us this week, and it was a great show. I like to call it "edurocktainment," and there’s plenty more to come this summer.

If you missed this event don’t feel bad. Here at South Independence, we’ve got a whole summer of fun planned in the cool confines of the branch.

See you soon!

These Dang Computers!

While technology has become a reality for everyday living, there are still many people who are resistant to the change. It can be frustrating for people who grew up without it to try and learn new skills. If you are one of the "anti-techies," South Independence has a program for you! Every month, we feature computer classes on the second Monday of the month at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. In the past, we've featured information on eBooks, email, Internet 101, online searching, Windows programs, and more!
