A cozy mystery is a part of the mystery fiction genre. The violence is treated with humor, plus the crime and detective work takes place in a close community. I love reading cozy mysteries because of the variety of stories. I have read topics ranging from books about dog walkers to witches in this genre.
I grew up watching my parents drink coffee every day, either black or with cream. Those were the only two choices. Then, a few years back, the Starbucks craze caught on, and you see people everywhere drinking all kinds of coffee all the time. Not just with cream, but a "Grande Latte" with extra foam (whatever that is, I don't drink coffee). But who decided that coffee was the new big fad and that "everyone everywhere" needed it?
Chances are, you or someone you know suffers from migraine attacks. Many of those who suffer from these intense headaches don’t realize they are suffering from this chronic illness. Of those who are diagnosed, many have friends or family members who would like to help them but aren’t sure exactly what to do.
One of the fun parts of working at the Library is getting to talk to the customers about the various books they read and recommend. The other day, a woman wanted to read the sequels to Heidi, the children's classic by Johanna Spyri. I didn't even know there were sequels. I searched MCPL's catalog and didn't find anything. I got on WorldCat and, sure enough, there were two sequels by Charles Tritten, Heidi Grows Up and Heidi's Children.
Whether you are "tying the knot" for the first time or your third time, you can find some wonderful information and ideas from books at the Library to make your wedding a special day. Look for ideas that make your day a reflection of your personality. Make it special for you!
The last year has seen some really strange weather. As I write this, we have just experienced 2 days in the 80s, when just the week before it was cold and rainy. Now the forecasters tell us that we could be experiencing record low high temperatures in the 40s.

Alright guys, I’m getting down to brass tacks here. I’m not some fuddy-duddy who can’t get her foot in the door, you know. I don’t have an axe to grind, but some would say I go the whole hog. That’s because I know my onions!
I don’t care to paint the town red. I just want to live the life of Riley. I’ve had my fifteen minutes of fame. It was a red letter day, let me tell you! I have been on cloud nine and sold down the river. But everything is hunky-dory.
In the spring of 2012, The Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy came out, and the rest, they say, is history. It has become a cultural phenomenon. It was one of the most popular books of 2012, and people from all walks of life are reading this book. People, who don’t read much, have read it. But, what do you do when the series is over? A friend has taught me to arrive at the check-in counter and offer my seat in exchange for a later flight. This worked in our favor when she and I traveled to Maine a few years ago. Due to a thunderstorm, our flight out of KCI to Maine was delayed. The airline used our tickets for someone else. However, we got on the same flight but were seated in first class. That was my first clue as to the benefits of this adventure.
