How long have you worked for MCPL? I worked at the North Independence Branch as a page for little over a year. Then, I became a Library assistant and retired from there. I'm now working in Grain Valley as page. In total, I have worked for MCPL for about 35 years.
What position(s) have you held at MCPL? I started off as a page, then became a library assistant. Now, I'm working as a page.
What is your favorite thing about working at the Library? Working among the books. I have had a lifelong love of reading.
Have you seen the scarves that swirl and ruffle? These scarves can add great color to you wardrobe. This scarf is surprisingly easy and fun to make.
Come join us at our Grain Valley Stitchers group Tuesday, September 18th at 2:00 p.m. and learn how to make this beautiful scarf. Knitting experience is helpful but not required. Bring the following supplies: One ball of Boutique Sashay yarn and size nine knitting needles. Bamboo is recommended.
I love my iPhone. And of course, apps are a big part of the reason I love it. MCPL now has a mobile app. With the MyMCPL app, you can check your account, place holds, view upcoming events, browse the card catalog, and so much more from your mobile device. You can even use the app to checkout your materials with your device. How cool is that?
Check it out, you'll love all the benefits of this app.
Guess Who's Coming to Grain Valley....It's Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy
For those who don't know who Nancy Clancy is, she is a little girl who loves all things fancy. The fancier the better- boas, sparkles, hearts, and bows. But, the great thing about Nancy is that she loves fancy words, especially French words. Using these adjectives makes her feel even fancier.
