Other than the shoveling and scraping, I normally enjoy a good snowstorm. It's a chance to slow down a bit, read a good book (or two), and see all of my neighbors at the grocery store at the same time. But this last blizzard made me slightly stir crazy. So, I decided to plan a road trip. Nothing battles a case of winter blahs like thinking about the freedom of a vacation.

One cure for this is to learn something new. What about learning to crochet? If you have always wanted to learn, now is your opportunity. The Grain Valley Branch is offering a class for beginners on February 1st at 11:00 a.m. Crochet is a hobby that does not take a lot of money to start, just a hook and some yarn.
Come and get some personal one-on-one instruction and learn a new skill.
Did you enjoy the "red" books last month? This month we have "Brown" books, authors with the last name of Brown that is. If brown isn't your color, then check out our prophecies display. Or, if you are looking to escape, then dream-reality may be the display for you. You can also sharpen up those detective skills with our cozy mysteries. For the kids, we have a display of American books.
If none of these sound good, stop in and we'll help you find something more to your liking.
