We have another picture from our Photo Fun at the Library group to share with you. Lance Lamb took this picture of the flag at Crown Hill Cemetery on a windy day. The cemetery is in western Excelsior Springs. For several years, there was no flagpole because of vandalism. The pole you see in the picture was put up last spring before Memorial Day.
Theodor Seuss Geisel (an American writer, poet, and cartoonist) was born March 2, 1904. He wrote under the pen names of Dr. Seuss, Theo LeSeig, and in one case, Rosetta Stone. His first book, And to Think I Saw It On Mulberry Street, was published in 1937. He wrote and illustrated over forty children’s books, which inspired eleven children’s television specials, a Broadway musical, and a feature length motion picture.

The new meeting dates and times are as follows:
Teen Book Club: Friday, March 1st at 4:00 p.m.
Adult Book Club: Saturday, March 9th at 11:00 a.m.

You can take your forms and pay to have your taxes done by a consultant; you can purchase a software program to file your taxes online; there are forms you can pick up at the library to file by hand; or there is the option for seniors that have moderate to low incomes to have their taxes filed for FREE at our Library!
Congratulations to Jon Klassen, winner of the 2013 Caldecott Medal for his book This Is Not My Hat, and congratulations as well to Katherine Applegate for her Newbery Medal win on The One and Only Ivan.
