Oh, No! I Forgot My Library Card!

No problem, if you have the MCPL app! The new library app for smartphones has a self-check option, which allows you to check out items without your card. Type in your card number, align the barcode under the scanner, and you’re done. If you don’t have your card number memorized, type it into the notes app, phone contacts, or another helpful app. Or, if you also have the OverDrive App on your phone, it’s possible to save your card number to the device so you don’t have to type it in but once.

eBook Overdrive Experts Now Aiding Dearborn Residents

Robin McInnis was the first person to ask for assistance in downloading Overdrive, a software that will enable her to download ebooks to her iPad. Robin is a music teacher with the St. Joseph school district and had just received the iPad for her work. The Dearborn staff was ready for her. Overdrive is a fantastic database filled with thousands of ebooks, and it's available free to MCPL card holders.

Looking Good!

WOW!!! The Dearborn Branch is finally done with all of their renovations. We have new carpet, paint, flooring, and a new desk. We have put in a lot of hard work and energy to make the library look great!!!  And boy does it look great! It is open and brighter than before.

We have the high school pictures up on the wall.  We've lowered them so you can see them better. They look super!! Come in and take a look around. Make sure you look at the high school pictures.

Hello, Cindy!

Please join us in welcoming our new Branch Manager—Cindy Stewart Grant. Cindy was previously the Library Director at Mound City Public Library since 2006. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from KU and is currently finalizing her Masters in Library Science through the University of Missouri.

Cindy is a terrific new addition to the MCPL team!  We hope you’ll give her a warm welcome.
