Springtime is here, and people are dying to get outside! Kansas City has a plethora of fun activities to do outside. Many are drawn to events and places such First Fridays, the KC River Market, or shopping on the Country Club Plaza. One of the smaller events is the annual MCC-Longview Flights of Fancy Kite Festival held on Saturday, April 20.
Do your little ones like to rock but you’re tired of The Wheels on the Bus and Mary Had a Little Lamb? I hear ya! How many times can you listen to the same 10 songs sung by silly vegetables before you pull your hair out?
Spring has sprung! Have you been enjoying the outdoors? Have you been working in your garden, planting and pruning? Does it need a little something special? How about a water feature?
The Library is trying something new! We are making a point of being out in our community to provide access to library resources for those who cannot come to the Library.
How can the Library stay relevant in a time when eBooks and other downloadable items are becoming so prevalent? One Colorado library may have found a way to keep libraries at the forefront.
Name your favorite fairy tale. Did you do it? I have two. (I know, that’s cheating) They are The Little Mermaid and Princess and the Pea, both of which are written by Hans Christian Andersen. In fact, I bet that a lot of you picked titles by Andersen and didn’t even know it.
Come Join Us for the Colbern Road Evening Book Club
This month the Colbern Road Evening Book Club will be discussing Franklin and Lucy by Joseph E. Persico. Join us Wednesday, March 27th at 7:00 p.m., as we delve into Roosevelt’s interesting history.
Recently, kindergarteners from Meadow Lane Elementary visited the Colbern Road Branch. Each student got their very own library card, and after they heard a story read by Mrs. Foster, they were able to check out a book to take home.
Our youngest customers used our new checkout stations to check out their own books and enjoyed exploring our new children’s area. They are already excellent library patrons!
It was great seeing Ms. DeHart’s, Ms. High’s, Ms. Overman’s, and Ms. Sheets’s classes, and we hope to see you again soon!
