No Housework Day

No Housework Day is always celebrated on April 7th.

No Housework Day is a chance to do anything, except housework. Better still, have someone else do the chores for a day. Housework is a daily, seemingly endless and repetitive group of tasks. It often goes unrecognized and worst of all....is taken for granted. But, watch out! If the dishes aren't done, or there are no clean towels, everyone notices!

Not Sure Where to Begin?

Are you having trouble finding a book to read and just do not know where to begin? Check out our in-stack displays. In our adult fiction, all the books are shelved by the authors last and then first names.

To help find some familiar genres or some new ones, we have set up some in-stack displays. All books on display are in the same genre and categories include: Sci-Fi, Mystery, Classics, Inspirational, Read-a-likes, Romance, Adrenaline, and Escape. They are located down the center aisle of our adult fiction collection.

Mardi Gras

My daughter and her family now live in Alabama, and we’ve discovered Mardi Gras is quite a big event there. They attend many parades and come home with multicolored beads, moon pies, and stuffed animals thrown to spectators from the floats. School is even dismissed for two days. Their dog, Penny, has her own Mardi Gras cape that she wears to the pet parade. I thought Mardi Gras was only celebrated in New Orleans. I discovered instead that it is celebrated in many countries around the world.
