Make Up Your Mind day is getting rid of all the indecision and taking your position in whatever you are struggling with.
December 21 is Humbug Day, which is a good excuse to get rid of pent up holiday frustrations. Even for people who love the holiday season, things can get stressful. There’s the money you pour into buying all those gifts for less than grateful relatives and friends. There’s excruciating Christmas music on the radio and in a lot of department stores. There are the Christmas parties and family get-togethers, for which attendance is not optional.
Isn’t it strange to be reading about earthquakes occurring in the middle of the United States? Yet, it has happened and continues to occur. An earthquake centered in Oklahoma struck on November 6, 2011 and was widely felt throughout the Kansas City area.
The very words conjure up all sorts of feelings and past experiences. Ranging from 24-hour shopping sprees, dreaded lines, traffic jams, fabulous sales items that mysteriously disappear from store shelves, to the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, Black Friday gives way to the official start of the Christmas shopping season and all the mayhem associated with it. Yet for many people, it also represents a joyful time scurrying about shopping for gifts for loved ones and friends.
First off, I would like to start out by wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. That being said, preparing and cooking for the Thanksgiving meal can, at times, be quite stressful on a person if they are doing it all alone. After the month of October has come to an end, I think back to all the walks, fundraisers, programs, and events that bring awareness to the prevention of breast cancer. There are so many people who go out of their way to do so much to help and encourage others. They give of their time, talents, resources, and financial support.
