Shelf Reorganization at the Platte City Branch Library
In order to provide a higher level of customer service to our patrons at the Platte City Branch, we have spent the last few months reorganizing our shelves. As a result, all of our adult materials are now located together on one side of the building, and all of our children’s and teen materials are now located together on the other side. The materials for preschool age children are still located in the center of the building, but we have relocated our early readers and beginning chapter books to the beginning of the children’s fiction section.
As you may already know, the Platte City Branch, like a number of other Mid-Continent Public Library branches, has recently begun utilizing a self-service holds shelf. Now, when you come in to the library to pick up your reserved materials, you can simply retrieve the items, and even check them out yourself with our self-checkout station, without ever having to wait in line. Just look for the Reserved Materials shelf near our checkout desk. Of course, you are still free to pick up your materials at our drive-through window as well.

As the last days of summer draw near, don’t let your mind fizzle out. School will be starting again soon! Students of all ages and schools of thought can benefit by interesting reading. Put aside the Beach Reads, the kids picture books, and read something you can think about. Think about picking up some Non-Fiction Novelties from our display at the Antioch Branch.
