When I was busy working, curling up with a good book was a luxury. Luckily, a friend and fellow bibliophile gave me the audiobook Tears of the Giraffe. I was hooked! A new and rewarding dimension of books opened to me.

Chief Meteorologist, Bryan Busby has been working at KMBC-TV since 1985. In that time, he has established himself as one of Kansas City’s favorite weathermen. In addition to forecasting the weather, Busby has proved to be something of a polymath, having established himself as both a concert timpanist and the Principal Guest Conductor of the Kansas City Youth Symphony. Recently, I had the chance to interview Mr. Busby about the historical significance of last week’s heat wave, our weather’s legendary mood swings and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Music Review: Tim McGraw @ the Sprint Center June 27th
The lights dim in the Sprint Center and Phil Collins’ In the Air Tonight blares through the speakers. The screams of the women in attendance fill the air with the realization that the man in the tight shirt and signature black cowboy hat was about to take the stage. Excitement and urgency flow through me as I wait for the show to start. The lights dim even more as the song crescendo’s to a heart pounding drum solo. Screams abound; cameras are turned on and steadied for the first of many photos to be taken. Finally, the song ends and a few minutes later
