The book club at the Dearborn Branch meets the second Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting will be September 14th, 2010 at 4 p.m. We are a congenial group and would love to have you join us. Pa and Peyton Graduate From Storytime for Toddlers
One of my favorite responsibilities at the North Independence Branch is Storytime for Toddlers. Thursday mornings, I have the pleasure of playing and reading with young children, age 18-36 months. We have a great time building lifelong learners and readers, see why I love my job! It takes a grand commitment for "adult lap buddies" to bring their toddler every week. Pa has been bringing his grandchildren for "years and years", and now Pa has graduated with his last grandchild, Peyton, in tow.

I've always been something of a music geek. Working at the library means I see a lot of CDs. I keep an eye out for artists that I have never heard, just so I can give them a listen.
It does not seem all that long ago that some people viewed audiobooks with derision, unless, of course, they were motivational, inspirational, or “How To” audios like "How to Make a Ton of Money in 30 Days or Less". Sad to say, I was one of those unenlightened, narrow-minded readers who believed fiction should ALWAYS be read, NOT listened to. Who knew what a wide range of scenarios these books would fit in?
