In the last genre blog, we looked into the genre of fantasy. Since fantasy is so closely related to science fiction, I figured that would be the perfect place to go next. So, today I have been learning about the genre of science fiction. Let’s delve right in, shall we?

Last time we talked, I informed you of the fundamental responsibility of Pages, which is shelving books. This is what Pages do 95.345481% of the time -- give or take a percentage point here or there. Normally, there is always something to shelve; however, there are other tasks that Pages have.

Maura Isles, ME, has gone to Wyoming for a medical conference. After the conference, a group of friends decide to go skiing. En route to the ski area, the group gets caught in a blizzard, and their SUV gets stuck on a drifted mountain road. They find refuge in a remote village - however, all the houses are dark and abandoned.
So, it is that time again. It's time to get out the carving knives and make pumpkins become art. It is amazing what a little time, patience, and a good pattern can do for a pumpkin. We recently held a pumpkin carving program here at the Lee's Summit Branch and look what we made. We had great fun carving and talking. New friends were made, and pumpkins were turned into masterpieces.
