You Can Break a World Record By Participating In Read For the Record Day, October 6th!
September 29, 2011
Llamas are coming to the library!
Join MCPL and Jumpstart as we read Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney to help set a new world record!
Read for the Record is a world record breaking campaign that brings children and adults together to read the same book, on the same day, in homes, libraries, and communities all over the world. On October 7, 2010, Jumpstart’s Read for the Record Campaign broke its own record for the world’s largest shared reading experience. More than two million children read or listened to the Ezra Jack Keats classic The Snowy Day at organized events across the U.S. and around the world.
To participate, come to one of our Storytimes on Thursday, October 6, 2011, listen to the book, and be counted! For full details visit our Read for the Record Page.

Llama, Llama Red Pajama
My granddaughter, Brooklynn, loved the idea of laying on the bed in the Kearney library and being read to by one of the librarians...and getting to hug the llama. She really enjoyed the book and it was the first thing she told her Daddy about when he got home from work that day. "Llama, Llama Red Pajama" was a cute book. Thank you so much for giving it to her...she carries it around with her and wants to come back to Mid-Continent and find some more Llama, Llama books for Grandma to read...mission accomplished!!
