Why You Should Join a Book Club

September 07, 2012

Have your ever read a book that excited you so much you simply had to share it? Or, read one that left you wondering what in the world the author was thinking? You’re the perfect person to join a book club!

MCPL has mystery book clubs, contemporary fiction book clubs, historical book clubs, nonfiction book clubs, short story book clubs, and book clubs that read all genres. Check our website for a book club close to you or the genre book club you enjoy.

The Dearborn Branch book club has read almost all genres in its 18 years of monthly meetings, beginning with The Bridges of Madison County through last month’s Nights of Rain and Stars by Maeve Binchy.

Stop by the Dearborn Branch and pick up Can’t Wait to Get to Heaven by Fannie Flagg for the September book talk, which is being held on Monday, Sept. 11th at 4:00 p.m. Other options for obtaining the Book Club books are downloading to an eReader, or checking it out with MCPL’s OverDrive Digital Downloads on your tablet or smartphone. Join us at Book Club!
