Which Branch?
September 18, 2012
Have you ever tried to place a hold online on our website, and selected the wrong pick-up branch? Well, a lot of people do – quite often selecting the Lee’s Summit Branch instead of the Colbern Road Branch. Both branches are in Lee’s Summit, so it can be a little confusing sometimes.
The Lee’s Summit Branch is the original MCPL library branch for Lee’s Summit, and has been a branch since 1947. This branch has moved around town several times since then, but has been in its current location at 150 NW Oldham Road since 1991.
The Colbern Road Branch in Lee’s Summit opened in its current location in October 1992 to better serve the growing population of Lee’s Summit.
So, just a reminder…if you want to pick up your hold requests at the Colbern Road Branch, be sure to select "Colbern Road" on the line by the dropdown arrow that says "Pickup at," instead of Lee’s Summit. If you do happen to select the wrong place, no worries! We can still have your items resent to Colbern Road if you ask us.
