Whether by Plane, Train, Automobile, RV, Cruise Ship, or Motorcycle; MCPL Can Help You Plan Your Perfect Vacation!

June 07, 2012

My husband and I really enjoyed our vacation to sunny Florida! It was great to visit with family and see God’s vast creation as we rode our Harley through the Ozarks, along the Gulf coast, and back through the mountains. Attending the 2012 TPC at Sawgrass was also a real treat. As usual, we started off with excitement and enthusiasm, looking forward to all the beautiful scenery and enjoyable moments. The ride through the swamps, along the Gulf, underneath canopies of live Oaks along plantation lined drives… WOW! We live in such a beautiful country! We took our time and stopped where and when we wanted, enjoying each other’s company and our surroundings. I can’t describe how it felt to see loved ones again and renew relationships that exist at such long distances – absence really does make the heart grow fonder. Of course, the clock never stopped ticking, and we soon found ourselves preparing for the ride home. After saying our farewells, we were back on the Road King, conquering the highways and byways of Georgia, Tennessee, and Arkansas; all of it was just as scenic as we had hoped. And as usual, the closer we got to home, the more we wanted to get home.  Everyone needs time to stop and relax, to meditate and reflect. Our vacation allowed us time to do just that.

I think a vacation is like a microcosm of life. Some are well planned and followed through even when handling the unforeseen difficulties (like broken muffler pipes and 8 p.m. no vacancy signs); while others are haphazard, ill prepared, and often leave you feeling like you need a vacation from your vacation! I really think that everyone expects their vacation to go well, and probably everybody starts off with at least some excitement and enthusiasm. But I have noticed in my travels that the roads are ripe with vacationers full of sad stories, wrong turns, and wasted days: people that can’t wait for the trip to be over so they can get home and forget about the whole thing!  I’ve met hundreds of people that have that attitude toward their lives. They started off with such high hopes and expectations only to have them beaten down, wrung out, and washed up on the shores of heartbreak lagoon. (I think we passed that place near Mexico Beach in Florida! What an unhappy looking bunch.)

Whether you are planning to vacation via plane, train, automobile, RV, cruise ship, or as we did, by motorcycle; your MCPL has an exhaustive selection of books for location ideas, planning, traveling with children, saving money, and having FUN!

I hope you have as much FUN, make as many GREAT MEMORIES, and ENJOY yourselves as much as we did!
