Where's Waldo? Pete the Cat Edition
May 14, 2013
The Weston Branch has its own version of Dewey the library cat.
Don’t worry, Bubbles the fish is not in danger! Turns out, our feline is the fabulous plush Pete the Cat!
He helps out around the Library when he can, but that isn't easy when all your hands are feet. So, normally, you'll just find him hanging around the branch keeping an eye on things.
About a month ago, he was our special guest at our Wednesday storytime when we read the latest book by Eric Litwin called Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons. All of the Pete the Cat books are easy to read and fun to share. The illustrations are so colorful, and I love that Pete doesn’t get too worked up about anything. No matter what happens to Pete, it’s all good! Needless to say, our Pete the Cat storytimes are always popular, and the kids really loved singing: "my buttons, my buttons, my four groovy buttons."
As I said, our Pete could appear anywhere in the branch. He could be reading a book in the storytime area, looking for a mystery in the adult fiction section, choosing a music CD to listen to, or selecting a DVD to watch after hours.
Why not come visit the Weston Branch to see where Pete the Cat is this week?
