Where's All the Snow?
January 17, 2012
It’s January in Kansas City, and we haven’t really had any snow yet. What gives? This is the Midwest after all. We should be trudging through 8 inch snow banks and shoveling sidewalks instead of wearing flip-flops and making do with light sweaters. We’ve barely had enough to make a snow mouse, let alone a snowman.
Where is all that good, old-fashioned winter weather? Well, according to Gary Lezak, it’s just not here yet. In his weather blog, Lezak predicts that the unseasonably warm weather we’ve had will be heading south for the second half of January. He is forecasting a major winter change between the 15th and 25th of the month, and that means SNOW! (Hopefully)
So, don’t give up hope yet. We may still get a cold snap this season, but, this being Missouri, I wouldn’t bet on it. Maybe, saying it will make it happen...
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
