When You Come to a Fork in the Road, Take it.

When you come to a fork in the road, take it…
Baseball’s All Star game will be held at Kauffman Stadium this year, which offers up a bull pen full of emotions. I have many fond memories of America’s past time. For years, the front yard in my childhood home seemed to have a permanent diamond pattern. Although the yard caused stress for my Dad, baseball was integral in our family life.
Televised games was the choice for viewing on the only set in the house and what could be picked up via antenna, no cable or sports packages in those days. What I remember most of those days was sound bites of Yogi Berra. Yogi-isms were frequently bantered about in my house and with the neighborhood gang.
Yogi-isms is actually a searchable term in Google, don’t forget YouTube as well. If, however, you want the definitive story of Yogi’s life and career, there is a 70 minute documentary available through the Library. Get to know the man behind the mixed up sayings. There is much more to him than the meets the ear, I mean eye.
