What's Your Favorite Hitchcock Movie?
October 11, 2012
I’d like to share with you a passion of mine—Alfred Hitchcock movies! I think the first one I ever watched was Rear Window. I was in college and a girlfriend and I went to see it on what must have been dollar movie night. In case you’re one of those who have not seen the movie, I won’t give the plot away, but you need to know that the villain of the piece is Lars Thorwald. Even now when I hear that name, I want to get up and close the blinds. I still remember when my friend and I went back to her house after the move and she had left her blinds open. We both looked at each other and shouted, "Lars Thorwald," and burst into hilarious giggles (after first closing those blinds!).
Just a few weeks ago, North by Northwest was on some cable channel. Of course, I knew the plot like the back of my hand, but my husband isn’t quite the fan that I am. He’d seen it before, but it had been years. And can you believe he’d only seen it one time? Well, he watched it with me and really enjoyed it.
I can’t decide which other Hitchcock movie makes it to my top three. Probably Vertigo, but Psycho comes in close. I’d love to hear, what is your favorite Hitchcock film?
