What's on Display?
May 08, 2013
The Town and Country Quilters, a local quilting guild here in Smithville, has filled our display case this month with some incredible works of art. It's worth a trip to the Library just to see these lovely quilts and wall hangings. This group of women also has items for sale at their booth at Octoberfest this year. So much goes into the "building" of a quilt-- planning, patterns, gathering, stitching, and more stitching. It's obvious that quilting is not just a hobby--it's a passion. And these folks welcome new members to their group. So come check out their display in our glass display case, and visit with these ladies at the Octoberfest this fall!
Our branch is also the "home" for a knitting group that meets in the morning on Wednesdays. These women also welcome all levels of crafters to join them. We have some very talented people in our area, and we welcome them to display these talents with us at the Library. For more information on displaying your crafts, contact the Smithville Branch at 816.532.0116.
