What's on Display?

Stop in to see our display of lovely, leaded glass pieces here at Smithville for the month of November. The two artists contributing pieces are Carol Mewmaw and Lue Phillips.
 
Carol likes designing her own pieces--she does not always follow patterns. She took a class in the Park Hill Continuing Education Program and was hooked on leaded glass. She now uses the books here at MCPL as a valuable resource. She has sold some of her jewelry and some of the stained glass pieces.  Some of her favorite pieces are the abstract works made of pieces of glass left from other projects.

Lue recently moved here from Washington state. Her passion revolves around encouraging others to pursue their hobbies and personal growth. She especially enjoys working with children, allowing them to free up and appreciate their creative side. Glass is her medium of choice because light comes through the glass, thus creating ever-changing colors as the glass bends the light rays.

Both these women have created some beautiful works of art, and we are lucky to have them displayed here at the MCPL Smithville Branch.
