What to Expect in September
August 07, 2012
All storytimes are on break until Sept. 4th, 2012. Please be sure and sign up for our fall Baby Storytime and Toddler Times.
Baby Storytime will be singing and reading about being on the farm. Be ready to sing two Old MacDonald songs with a twist. The first song with a twist is found in Mr. Froggy’s friends’ ABCs by Mar Harman. You’ll sing "Old MacDonald had a farm, e-i-e-i-o and on his farm he had a cow, e-i-e-i-o, moo, moo stand up, moo, moo turn around, moo, moo clap your hands, sit back down." I’ll have you moving and grooving often in this version of Old MacDonald. We’ll be reading some familiar books, too: Big Red Barn by Margaret Wise Brown, Down on the Farm by Merrily Kutner, My Farm Friends by Wendell Minor, and Big Red Farm by Christianne C. Jones. We will also sing "Old MacDonald Had A Band" by Kathy Reid-Naiman from her CD I Love To Hear The Sounds. You’ll tap rhythm sticks to this tune as well as bells.
Sign-up is once a month, so make it a habit to do so at the beginning of each month. The registration book will be handy back in the Children’s area during storytime. Also, plan to check out the books we have displayed each week. See you there, refreshed and ready for a new year of storytime!
