What Can Your Catalog Do For You?
July 11, 2012
I’ll admit that I’m a big dork. I love to read…that’s probably why I work at the Library. One of my favorite things to do is check out the Forthcoming Titles section of our catalog. I’ll often spend an hour or so looking through the forthcoming material, finding the newest releases from my most read authors.
One of the advantages of using the MCPL catalog is the ability to put items on hold before they are released, and sometimes even before they are published. For example, have you ever been surprised to see a recent James Patterson novel in the new release section of your favorite bookstore? You hurry home to place your hold, but find yourself having to wait forever. The Forthcoming Titles tab lists our most popular authors’ books several months before release, giving readers the chance to be at the top of the list. The same tab also gives readers the chance to search for DVDs and music that are on their way to the Library. Some films are even listed while they are still in theaters.
Here are some of the most popular items that are coming soon to the Library:
The Forgotten by David Baldacci…coming November 20, 2012
Husband List by Janet Evanovich…coming December 11, 2012
Notorious Nineteen by Janet Evanovich…coming November 20, 2012
The Racketeer by John Grisham…coming October 23, 2012
Zoo by James Patterson…coming September 3, 2012
