What’s On Your List?
May 23, 2013
A few years ago, a friend sent an email message to a list of friends and asked each of them to list 10 books that had impacted their lives. What a great idea, I thought. I’ll do it! However, it was not as easy as it appeared. After much thought, I had a list of 15 titles that refused to be shortened, so I sent my list of 10, plus 5.
But the best part of the list making came about a week later when all the lists began showing up in my inbox. It was fascinating to recognize titles that others found important and a great resource for future reading. And then, after noticing how alike our lists were, a reading friendship developed between a friend-of-a-friend and me. We began exchanging titles, authors, and common interests. We were kindred spirits, you could say.
