Weston Kids' Day
June 08, 2011
On Sunday, the MCPL Weston Branch had the opportunity to join forces with other volunteers to support Weston's Park & Recreations during Kids' Day. We had a booth set up that featured miniature golf and prizes. Two popular booths were the petting zoo and the inflated water slide. As it was pretty hot on Sunday, the water slide had the longest line, but our mini golf didn't do too badly either. We had 65 kids come by to swing a club. No one suffered any injuries. I was hit a few times with the golf balls, but they were plastic and it didn't hurt too much. Funny enough, the prize that went the fastest were the READ tribal tattoos. Who knew? We just threw them in at the last minute. We really enjoyed being in the park and helping out the Recs department.
