We're Here for You!

August 17, 2010

The Raytown Branch is home to a well seasoned staff ready to help make your visit meaningful and pleasant.  Susan Haley, our Branch Manager has been our manager for 10 years. Previously, she was at the South Independence Branch, as well as libraries in Kansas City Kansas, and Brooklyn, New York. Todd Hembree is the Assistant Manager, and has been at the Raytown Branch many years.

If your looking for a storytime experience, our two story ladies, Miss Mary and Miss Amy offer storytimes 3 times a week. They have developed a loyal following, and would welcome any new children who have not previously attended.  Continuing our journey through Raytown, Denise is our Adult Program coordinator, and together with Susan, helps select and plan programs which will be beneficial to our community.  Janet is the host for our adult book groups, and chooses books which provide meaningful and thought provoking discussion. This group also likes to snack as they discuss.

Continuing our get to know us tour, Colleen facilitates a monthly crochet group at the Raytown Branch, where they learn something new, as well as take ideas from each other to create beautiful designs.  If you’re a teen and looking for something fun to do, our Young Adult  facilitator, April hosts several programs, as well as book discussion groups through the year.

This is just a small fraction of the people who contribute to making the Raytown Branch the place to be in Raytown.  Many people think all you do when you work in a library is check books in and out, but as you can see these people do a lot more than that.  In future blogs I will highlight other members of our staff who make important contributions to the daily operations of our branch.
