We Have Our First Winner!

January 24, 2012

Hey Greater Kansas City,

We challenged and you accepted. 6 in 12 is off to a brilliant start, and we're committed to helping you keep up the momentum. In fact, we're awarding our first prize. Dearborn's Evelyn Mcauly won two tickets from the Kansas City Repertory Theatre to see their stage production of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

The KC Rep has been a Kansas City staple for over 40 years. It has two theaters in KC, one on the UMKC campus and another in Downtown Kansas City near Power and Light. Their kind support of the 6 in 12 program is just another example of their commitment to our city's arts and the community at large.

2012 is off to a booming start! It's not even February, and MCPL patrons have already entered nearly 3500 titles! It looks like you all are pretty good at keeping those New Year's Resolutions.

We'll keep up our end of the bargain by providing you with access to hundreds of thousands of titles and knowledgeable staff to help you find them. In addition, we'll be awarding tickets to KC area events throughout the year and 5 grand prizes in January of 2013.

Happy reading Kansas City!

Reading is inspiring

Reading a new book is the inspiration for the quiet moments in my busiest weeks. And the variety of reading materials at the branches are amazing! Thank you for this great 6 in 12 reading program.

Reading

I could not imagine a day where I didn't have a chance to read a book. Whether it's a Stepehen King Mystery or a Clive Cussler Adventure or anything else in between, books are a great way to be entertained and to escape.
