Want To Know More About the History Of Facebook?
October 19, 2010
If you are a Facebook user and a movie fan, the movie The Social Network may be for you. The film features an ensemble cast, and is a drama about the founding of the internet social networking website Facebook.
The release date in theatres was October 1st and the DVD is currently on order at MCPL. So, get your name on the holds list.
The movie is based on the book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal by Ben Mezrich. Founder Mark Zuckerberg wasn’t involved in the book or the movie. Research included legal documents from two lawsuits. It is interesting and ironic that the person who made the word friend a verb might not be a good one.
For a different view, read The Facebook Effect. Author David Kirkpatrick had the full cooperation of Mark Zuckerberg in researching his book.
