Voter Registration
September 24, 2012
It’s difficult to turn on a TV, radio, or any other electronic device (or pick up the newspaper, for that matter) lately without realizing that it is election season. Regardless of your political leanings, we have great news at the Lone Jack Branch!
Before the window for registering to vote closes, we will have representatives from Organizing for America helping as many community members register as possible. This is a great addition to our regular staff members who are able to register voters at the Lone Jack Branch before the October 10th cut-off date. You should also know that the individuals who will be assisting are at the Library in a nonpartisan capacity.
Tables will be set up in the branch at the following times:
Thursday, September 27th
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Saturday, September 29th
1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 4th
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m
Monday, October 8th
5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Tuesday, October 9th
1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Did you know we also serve as a polling location? If you plan on voting, check with the Jackson County Election Board to ensure you’re familiar polling locations before this November’s election and to double-check that your registration information is fully up-to-date.
Perhaps, we’ll see you bright and early on Election Day. Whether you’re voting or visiting during our regular hours to access any of the Library’s many resources, come by and say hi – as the new Branch Manager here in Lone Jack, I’d be pleased to meet you!
