Did you know it’s been 90 years since women gained the right to vote in the United States? The 19th Amendment passed August 18, 1920, and the amendment was certified August 26, 1920. Women’s Equality Day is celebrated August 26th to mark this event.
You can find biographies of Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and many other famous women at your library.
You can also register to vote at your local library. Voter registration requirements vary by county, so call your local branch ahead of time to find out what you’ll need to bring with you for voter registration.
