Vitamin D Revolution
February 08, 2011
Once I reached middle age, the subject of health became a major topic of interest to me. Lots of topics about physical and mental well-being, including Alzheimer’s disease, osteoporosis, heart disease, and diabetes, started popping up in television shows, health newsletters, magazines, and numerous books. Whether the focus is exercise, diet, sleep, or alternative medicine, I have been drawn to read and process as much information as possible in an effort to learn more about how to promote and sustain good health.
Recently, I came across an amazing book entitled, The Vitamin D Revolution by Soram Khalsa, M.D. This book is written in layman’s terms. It is an easy read about the power of this vitamin and how it impacts your health.
Did you know that Vitamin D is not really a vitamin but a hormone? Did you know that currently many Americans are suffering from Vitamin D deficiency and that more than seventeen kinds of cancer and other life threatening diseases have been scientifically connected with a lack of this vitamin? For more fascinating facts about the relationship between Vitamin D and good health, I encourage you to pick up a copy of this book from your local library today!
