Veterans Salute 2011

MCPL cordially invites you to join us for our annual Veterans Salute program on Saturday, October 22 at the Platte City Branch. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet decorated war veterans, view vintage military vehicles and memorabilia, and enjoy roundtable discussions with both veterans and current active duty service members. This year, we will be commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, which drew the United States into World War II, the costliest conflict in human history in terms of destruction and lives lost.

Veterans Salute 2011 Schedule:

9:00 a.m. - Performance by the American Legion Band
9:30 a.m. - Opening Ceremony
10:30 a.m. - Veterans Roundtable Discussion Featuring Veterans of the Attack on Pearl Harbor and World War II
11:30 a.m. - World War II Weapons Demonstration
1:00 p.m. - World War II Combat Reenactment
2:00 p.m. - Active Duty Officers Roundtable Discussion
