TV's Summer Bummers

July 11, 2012

I’m afraid we’ve entered the Summer TV Zone, duh, duh duuhh... All our favorite TV shows have had their season finales, and now we have to figure out what we’re going watch on those summer nights when going outside is not an option. You know, those days when the heat index is 114 and it’s not much better when the sun goes down.

My husband gets control of the remote during the summer months because life wouldn’t be worth living if we didn’t watch every Royals game (cue sarcasm). And when that’s not on, we point the clicker at American Ninja Warrior! Sounds enthralling, right? It’s kind of a cross between Double Dare (for those of you old enough to remember the Nickelodeon classic) and a military obstacle course. Fortunately, it’s not as goofy as Wipe Out, but it’s pretty close.

As for me, if a good book can’t be found, I find refuge in a TV series from the Library. I can pick my favorite shows like Charmed or The Big Bang Theory and watch an entire season without interrupting the great baseball marathon. What’s your go-to show for the summer?

Burn Notice

Submitted by Anonymous on July 16, 2012 - 12:42pm.

I just checked out season 1 of Burn Notice from the library! I was super surprised to see how MANY different TV series' MCPL has! It was so difficult to choose, but my family is watching the current season and I need to catch up! :P
