Traveling with the Library
November 11, 2011
Recently, my family and I traveled to Wisconsin to take a short vacation, and used the library’s resources to help us on our journey! We go to Wisconsin at least once a year to visit family, but also take the time to enjoy the scenery. We have visited the Wisconsin Dells and The House on the Rock. We have also enjoyed traveling to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan: Mackinac Island, Tahquemenon Falls State Park and Campground. We have even driven to Canada!
If you’re planning on taking a trip, come to the library to do some research before heading out. Check out our travel section in the 900's! You can plan your trip and also checkout DVDs to help the time pass as you’re traveling. My kids watched The Flintstones on the way there and on the way back home from our 12-hour drive. Also, to help mom survive the trip with four children (oh yeah, while they slept), I downloaded an eBook onto my cell phone! Check out the downloadable eBooks through our databases. Call and ask for help if needed. The library is full of resources to help the time pass as you make your journey!
