Too Much To Do, Not Enough Time
February 11, 2011
If you are like me and every other person out there, there is too much to do and not enough time to do it. So, how do you stay on top of everything? I am a list person. However, between work, family, kids, the dog, the house, and everything else that crops up, my to-do lists are sometimes out of control. I think I have found the answer, or at least my answer to the never ending chore list.
I recently read the book Getting Things Done by David Allen, and his approach to productivity (meaning checking things off your to do list) is so simple and yet effective. Everything he says is common sense, but he presents it in a way that clicks. I have been working with his system for a couple of months now, and I do feel like I actually get somewhere on my to-do lists. While I still have my lists, they are organized in a way that I can actually work with them and not feel overwhelmed by them. I highly suggest this book if you feel like you are drowning in stuff to do or even if you are just looking for a new approach to getting things done.
