Tiny Houses
October 15, 2010
I’ve always been intrigued by small spaces. As a child, I thought living in a small apartment in a big city would be the coolest thing ever! Tiny Houses by Mimi Zeiger really made an impression. I told everyone I know about that book, and now I’m telling people I don’t know.
With all the talk about carbon footprints, self sustainability, eco-friendly this and eco-friendly that, and green everything, living small makes more sense than ever. There are resources all over the web about small house living. Tiny House Blog and Apartment Therapy are both favorite websites of mine.
Some books to check out are:
- Apartment Therapy Presents: Real Homes, Real People, Hundreds of Design Solutions by Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan
- Apartment Therapy's Big Book of Small, Cool Spaces by Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan
- The Very Small Home: Japanese Ideas for Living Well in Limited Space by Azby Brown
- How to Live in Small Spaces by Terence Conran.
