As Time Goes By
January 26, 2011
When I was young, I went to the library housed in the basement of a building on the Independence square. While attending Palmer Junior High, I would sometimes walk to the square after school and use the library facility. My second grade teacher was a librarian there.
When my children were young, we would go to the library in Grain Valley. I loved it, and my children loved it because the librarians made you feel welcome and at home. It was a good influence on my children, and the love of reading was instilled in them at a young age.
Now, I am a grandma working at the library and I bring one of my grandsons to storytime. He too has had the love of reading instilled in him and enjoys the stories, the crafts, and the people.
When I am old, I hope my children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and so on; will continue the tradition of going to the library, reading, and enjoying the atmosphere the library can bring.
